Dash: He's Here!!

Dash has arrived!!  (I've been a little excited about it)

Yesterday my grandma took the kids to the two malls near our place to look at the Christmas displays.  Before you go thinking we live in this uber-big town that requires two malls, it's nothing like that.  We have one "big" mall (has less than 30 stores, but has a Zellers-soon-to-be-Target) and a shopping centre (which has less than 20 stores, but has the liquor store and London Drugs).

When they got back Danny and I went downstairs to meet the kids and Lynden discovered this sitting by our door:

There was no label or anything so we took it upstairs to see what was going on.

My favourite part is when Lynden questions Dash being here because "it's not even Christmas yet" - thankfully he got over that quickly.

He was pretty excited for the rest of the day - Dash went with us everywhere.

Yes, we let the kids touch our elf.

Last year we received a note from Santa saying Dash could be touched but had to be put at a window every night so they could talk through the moon (I guess technology changes have reached the North Pole).

Last night was the first night and Dash wasted no time.

An elf-made activity advent calendar.  Day 1: Go to a parade.

Good timing, the annual Santa parade is tonight.  What a smart elf ;o)

    1. It's hard to tell them not to touch it. I figured it would be a bigger fight to try to stop them so why not

  2. That is SO cute! I love Lynden's "happy dance." :) I resisted the elf thing last year because it seemed like everyone was doing it and I don't like to follow the crowd, but everyone's fun pictures have convinced me to do it this year! Our elf "Chevy" just came this morning! But I LOVE the balloon idea. I really need to remember that for next year!

  3. So cute! I love that the elf put up the advent calendar! Do you do a book calendar? You'd probably like that too. Wrap up 25 Christmas books, pen each night. Some old, some new surprises, etc. I am your newest follower!

  5. Yay! Thanks for adding me to the list of co-hosts for your Cans For Comments :) I told my hubby about it and he really likes this idea too! I'm super excited. I'll start to promote it and do a preview post about it sometime next week.

I love that Advent Calendar! Next year when my little is old enough to understand the concept I plan on doing a calendar and either getting the Elf or Dash. So fun :)

    1. Thank you Jenny!!

There are some super cute advent calendar ideas out there, but I couldn't find the supplies. And I didn't want to spend hordes of money on something I wasn't sure my son would be into.

      Thankfully he is :o)
