Highlights Of My Week

This has been an interesting week for us.  Danny was shipped to Montreal, unexpectedly, at the start of this week so I had to rearrange my work schedule so I could be home a bit more.  Thankfully the kids have done really well with daddy being away and mommy being home.

But this week seems to have some good "blog fodder" moments.

* Lynden pretends he's Spiderman and shoots webs, which Alyssa has decided to mimic.  On Sunday Danny was feeding her lunch and he did something with her food (he doesn't remember what he did) and she was not happy.  She gave him the frowns of all frowns and then shot webs at him (stuck her arm out and made her web shooting noise).

* Anyone who knows me knows I like my lists.  I don't go to the grocery store without one, I don't pack to go anywhere without one, I will write out a to do list when I have a busy day, I function better with a list.  While Danny was packing his suitcase to go to Montreal he couldn't figure out what he needed.  He turned to me and said "I should have made a list".  I threw my arms up, cheered, and gave him a kiss.  As my sister said, "I fell in love with my husband all over again".

* Our downstairs neighbour is a really nice guy, especially since he puts up with the stomping of tiny feet.  Earlier this week he was doing his grocery shopping and spotted some toys he thought Lynden would like so he bought them (he was very apologetic for not being able to find anything for Alyssa).  Lynden saw him the next day and, without prompting, thanked him for his new toys.

* Lynden and I made muffins this week (look forward to another installment of Pinteresting Recipes, as I'm trying out a bunch while I'm solo mama) and once they were in the oven he asked to call grandma and ask her to come over for muffins.  Anytime we make muffins he invites her over - it's not uncommon for her to bring a muffin over when she watches the kids in the morning.  (He also liked the idea we take our downstairs neighbour muffins as a "thank you")

* While on the phone with daddy Lynden went into his room to tell daddy about the days we've crossed off and how many more days until daddy's home again.  "Then you stay home for a few days and then you go back to work to get money for me".

* My sister, who has a blood disorder, had an appointment with a hematologist this week and it looks like there's a (good) possibility she was misdiagnosed.  This could be life altering for her and in a really good way.

* I'm half way through Danny's trip and I'm surviving (granted Wednesday I was at my sister's doctor's appointment which ate up most of my day).  It hasn't been as overwhelming as I thought it would be.  It's almost easier knowing I'm not getting my evening relief; I know I'm the one who has to cook, clean, bathe, and pit kids to bed.  Somehow that makes it easier - NOT saying I want my husband away all the time, I miss him and can't wait til he's home next weekend.

* Speaking of Wednesday and my sister, after her appointment I dropped her off at a friends place (after the 8 vials of blood were taken from her) and managed to get a few new items of clothing.  Her friend's husband just closed his clothing store so he has boxes of clothing in their shed, which I got to rummage through.

* While having evenings to myself I've managed to check out some new blogs and really enjoyed some.  I've even recruited some of them to do guest posts for me in August when we take our staycation, which I'm looking forward to, especially since it was bumped back a month with Danny's promotion at work (oh yea, along with his trip to Montreal he got a promotion too!).

If anyone is interested in doing a guest post for me in August feel free to email me at bluepens_30{at}hotmail{dot}com or use my Contact Me page.

Those are some of my highlights from my week.  What did you enjoy from yours?
