Dash: Final Days

Today is Dash's last day with us.  We have had a lot of fun with him this year and cannot wait until he comes back next year.

Dash has slid down the banister

This morning we woke to a scavenger hunt

I must say Lynden surprised me; he knew exactly where to look for every hint Dash left.  I thought the last two hints would stump him; "I wish I could have gone to preschool with Lynden" (Lynden's backpack) and "Look in some of your favourite hiding spots while playing hide and seek" (under Alyssa's crib) - Lynden got both at once.

The final surprise?

Christmas pajamas!!

Lynden's looking forward to having Santa come tonight, even though it means Dash is going home.

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas!!

Dash: 2 Days

Wednesdays are hectic days, so I opted to not post yesterday.  Have no fear, you will not miss out on Dash antics

Wednesday:
Guess Dash was looking forward to snow too, not that we got any.

Thursday:
hiding in the stocking
I did not take this picture.  And Dash is not sitting in the stocking properly because he kind of forgot to move until 7am so he quickly scrambled into it.

Tomorrow we will be revealing our donation posts

Dash: Video From Santa

First: It snowed last night.  Lynden woke up and I told him to go look outside.  He said "Snow!  My wish came true."  When I asked him why he wished for snow he told me "I want to make snow angels and snowmen".

Tomorrow he might be able to actually get to play in the snow (we're expecting more tonight, which is good for the kids but terrible for the city - we do not seem to handle snow well on the coast)

Second: Dash

We received our annual video from Santa.  (The videos get better and better every year).  When Santa said "Hello Lynden" his eyes got BIG!

{I tried to post the video on here but no luck}

Dash: Puzzling

Lynden came home with a bag of goodies from Gramma's house.  One of them was a puzzle, which has Santa on one side and a snowman on the other.  Dash helped Lynden put the puzzle together

Dash: Tea Party {Final Day for Cans For Comments}

Lynden had a sleep over at Gramma's house last night (and I heard whispers of Dash dropping something off there during the night) so last night he had a tea party for one.

Alyssa hasn't noticed.

She enjoys holding him and making him dance (and not sharing with Lynden) but that's about as far as she understands what he's about.

Dash: Traffic

Disclaimer {read before looking at the pictures}: Lynden loves cars (I may have mentioned that before) and I know he has a lot.

We have no 2 that are the same.  He can tell you something about almost every car.  He has a lot (and he'll get more on Christmas morning)!

Dash put them to good use last night

Now, I thought it was a parade but Lynden corrected me this morning "look at all the traffic mommy".

An update on yesterday's post: Lynden's listening ears were on for most of the day.  I was gone all day but Danny said with the exception of quiet time Lynden was a pretty good listener.  Guess we should learn to stick to the chocolate advent calendar after dinner instead of after quiet time.

We are down to the final 2 days of Cans for Comments

I touched base with a few of my co-hosts yesterday and it seems to be going well (it could always be better).

Dash: Sad Elf

This morning Lynden awoke to a letter from Dash, and not a happy one (not that Dash ever stops smiling)

Dash is sad because he's had to tell Santa that Lynden has not listening.

{I know Lynden can't be awesome all the time, but it's been so nice having him listen, share nicely, and be polite}

Cans for Comments ends Saturday, so keep those comments coming!!

Dash: Up High

Dash seems to be happy our tree is up, this morning it took Lynden almost 2 hours to find him.

We're slowly working on our tree - by the end of the week we should be done.

I found some great link ups for those who have elves.

Dash: ZZZZZZZ

Dash has had some late nights.  He somehow got a tree and put it up, that's exhausting for us normal sized people, he's like 8" tall.  Guess it finally caught up with him

Hopefully, Lynden will remember what he learned yesterday about not waking people when they're sleeping (it was a fight at 6:30 yesterday).

Yesterday's advent activity was to go see Santa.  Danny took them down to the mall and they didn't get pictures but talked to Santa - Lynden seems to be warming up to him; Alyssa's not going near him.

Today's activity: spend the day with family.

We're heading up to Grouse for the day with some cousins.  There's reindeer, Santa, cookie decorating, and a bunch of other things going on.

"It's getting to feel a lot like Christmas"

Dash: O Christmas Tree

What a handy little elf we have.

I was feeling a little late on getting some sort of sign of Christmas (Dash has been here a week) and viola!  Dash solved that

He brought us a Christmas tree!!!  A real one, which I don't think I've had in at least 10 years.

He also brought us a big mess, which is okay since we needed a good vacuuming anyways.

Now we need to find some time to decorate it and Christmas will have officially arrived in our house!

Dash: Baking

Dash did some Christmas baking for the kids last night.  In Alyssa's play kitchen too, I'm not that good of a baker ;o)

Although the picture doesn't show it the kids were quite excited

I find it quite cute that Lynden checks the kitchen first (he really liked the marshmallow roasting too)
